LTA Tennis Foundation Golf Day returns to The Grove and raises over £80,000 to improve lives through tennis

• 4 minute read

Bringing together supporters, and partners at The Grove, the annual Golf Day combined sport, networking and fundraising, with the funds raised set to make a lasting impact on communities across Britain.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and supporters, the event raised over £80,000, helping the charity continue its mission of improving lives through tennis.

This year's event welcomed Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP as the event’s first headline sponsor. Founded in 1884, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is one of the world's leading law firms, advising multinational corporations, financial institutions and asset managers across a wide range of practice areas. With more than 2,000 lawyers across 15 offices worldwide, the firm provides coordinated legal and transactional advice on complex matters around the globe.

The teams took to the course for 18 holes of golf, enjoying a range of on-course challenges, competitions and opportunities to connect throughout the day. With fantastic weather and plenty of friendly rivalry, the event once again proved to be a highlight of the LTA Tennis Foundation fundraising calendar.

The on-course challenges included:

  • GFORE – Nearest the pin
  • Dunlop – The Longest Serve
  • Singha – Van on the 10th

Following the golf, guests gathered for lunch, where they heard from Tom Gibbins, Head of Development for the LTA Tennis Foundation, who highlighted the great programmes the charity supports through the Grant Making Framework and its investment into facilities. Tom said, “The Grant Making Framework funding goes far beyond getting people active on the court, it changes their lives and gives them opportunities that otherwise would be unavailable to them.” He then highlighted that the grant funding has positively impacted more than 34,000 people, as well as generating over £21m of social value with support of grant partners.

In a new addition for 2026, Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP championed the introduction of a golf clinic aimed at supporters who were new to the sport or wanted to improve their game.

The clinic provided a relaxed and inclusive way for guests to learn new skills, enjoy the day and support the LTA Tennis Foundation alongside golfers on the course, helping even more people get involved in the event.

Lauren, one of the participants, said, “I had a brilliant day at the LTA TF Golf Day Clinic. Having only tried golf a couple of times before, the clinic was the perfect opportunity to learn new skills in a friendly and inclusive environment. It was a great way to feel part of the wider event and connect with the other golfers afterwards, while also supporting a very deserving charity.”

The winners of the Team Stableford competition were the team from Neptunus, with an incredibly consistent performance across the course. In second place were the four representatives from The Team coming in extremely close second place. Claiming bronze was one of the groups from headline sponsors, Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LP.

Every pound raised through the Golf Day will help the LTA Tennis Foundation continue to fund projects that use tennis to improve lives, breaking down barriers to access and creating opportunities for people and communities across Britain.

Hannah Simpson, Fundraising Lead for the LTA Tennis Foundation, said: "We can't thank Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP enough for their support this year. Their backing has helped us raise significantly more funds, meaning we can support even more life-changing work in communities across Britain. The day itself was fantastic. It's always special to bring together so many people who share a commitment to improving lives through tennis, and the friendly rivalry out on the course only added to the atmosphere.

"I'd also like to extend a huge thank you to The Grove for hosting us once again and delivering such an outstanding event. Their support and attention to detail helped make the day a great success."

The LTA Tennis Foundation would like to thank Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, all sponsors, and participants who helped make this year's Golf Day such a success. Together, they have helped ensure that even more people can experience the benefits of tennis in the years ahead.
