LTA Tennis Foundation appoints two new Trustees
• 3 minute read
LTA Tennis Foundation has today announced the appointment of two new Trustees, Wendy Plumb and Katie Hammond, both of whom bring a wealth of experience across sport, charitable operations and governance.
LTA Tennis Foundation is the LTA’s official charity, with a mission to improve lives through tennis. As a grant and loan giving charity, it works with partners across Britain to bring the benefits of tennis to underserved communities and underrepresented groups. In 2025 alone, through its Grant Making Framework, the charity has generated over £21m in social value and positively impacted over 34,000 people.
The recruitment panel was delighted by the high level of interest in the roles. Following a robust recruitment process, the successful candidates were selected for their strong third sector experience and proven fundraising expertise.
They join a strong and experienced Board, including Chair of Trustees Tim Lawler MBE, who is also CEO of SportsAid. Of the new appointments, Tim said: “I am thrilled to welcome Wendy and Katie to the Board. Their combined experience will add real value and further strengthen the charity as we continue to develop and progress towards being the very best we can be. Both Wendy and Katie bring strong third sector backgrounds, with a particular focus on fundraising, which will be incredibly supportive as we look to grow our impact. They are joining the Board at an exciting time, as we shape our plans for the next three years and build on the important work already underway.”
The LTA Tennis Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Trustees Chris Mills and Hitesh Patel, who will step down from the Board in July 2026. Both have made a significant contribution to the charity during their time in post.
Chris has chaired the Grant Making Framework sub-committee, providing valuable advice and guidance on best practice, and Hitesh has brought considerable insight and support, helping to strengthen and develop the charity’s work.
Together, they also played an important role in supporting the merger of the LTA Trust and Tennis Foundation in 2022, which led to the creation of the LTA Tennis Foundation as it stands today. The Board is grateful for their dedication, expertise and support during their time as Trustees.
